Irisi's Lost Memory 1: An Irreplaceable Partner

This picture is the very first of Irisi's memories, which have been erased and can be recovered only when the events in the present replay the exact same event that was lost from her mind.

The first of Irisi's long-lost memories has been restored when Irisi is alone with Winged Kuriboh in her bedroom possibly before she is selected in the next round of the Battle City finals. This event happens probably before Drake's duel, which will occur before episodes 86-89. (Aurora's duel will probably happen before these episodes as well.) Winged Kuriboh feels left out because Aurora/Irisi has used her signature cards (Magician's Valkyria & Dark Magician Girl) more often than the cute little Fairy, and it worries that she may replace it with them. Irisi says that the monster will not be replaced and promises that it will be used more often, thus regaining the lost memory.

In the flashback I have drawn, Princess Irisi is expecting her first child with the runaway thief (Marik), and her spirit companion Winged Kuriboh worries that her child may take its place. However, Irisi explains to the little furball that a spirit like Winged Kuriboh is irreplaceable and no human being can be a substitute for it.

I really love how I styled Irisi's hair, which is worn in a side ponytail with a beautiful golden laurel on the side, and her dress. It has a bejeweled neckline that matches the beautiful print on the top of her dress. The only setback I had when I was finishing this drawing last night was the background. I had a huge background block until I found a picture with a brick wall as the background. It finally helped me out, so I drew in the wall as best as I could and colored it in taupe. (No, the room isn't dark; it's actually lit by candles, I assume... )

I did my best describing the story behind this flashback scene, so I hope you will all understand it. I will be glad to add in additional details if needed. And lastly, enjoy this picture!

One more thing I forgot to mention: Princess Irisi's first child will be a boy.
